Conlan Swope
Conlan Swope began his career at
Warfel Construction Company as a project intern over the summer months in
2008. Nearly 14 years later, he is the vice president of operations.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 2009, he joined
the East Petersburg-based company full time as a project engineer. Over the years, Swope would be promoted
to positions with increased responsibility including project manager, assistant operations manager and
operations manager. He was named to his current position in 2017.
“I have been taught from a young age the value of serving others and persevering through adversity,” Swope
said. “I have held these two concepts at the forefront of my journey through life and they have helped me
develop some amazing teammates, friends, co-workers, and community relationships.”
A youth football and baseball coach for several years in the Lampeter-Strasburg community, he also co-
founded a running club, NE.RF — No Excuses. Run Farther, in June 2021 to bring together friends, community,
and runners of all demographics to find a time and a space to enjoy the sport. “It has been super cool to see
this group grow and inspire others over the past year,” he said.
