VisionCorps names new president and CEO
Lancaster-based VisionCorps has named Megan Tomsheck as its new president and CEO
“After a search process and interviews, the Board of Directors chose Megan, an internal candidate, to be the new leader of VisionCorps. We believe her enthusiasm, experience, and passion will continue to advance the mission and goals of VisionCorps both locally and nationally,” said Paul Trunk, chair of the VisionCorps Board of Director
Tomsheck will begin her new role on Oct. 1.
Dennis Steiner, current president and CEO, is scheduled to retire Oct. 31. Until then, said Trunk, she will be working closely with Steiner to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
“I am extremely happy for Megan and looking forward to working closely with her over the next few months as she prepares for her new role as CEO at VisionCorps,” said Steiner. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch her grow and develop into a strong and capable leader. I am confident that VisionCorps, under her guidance and direction, will continue to be a leader in providing services to people who are blind or who have low vision.”
Trunk said Tomchek’s knowledge and work experience at VisionCorps are big assets,” said Trunk.
“Megan started at VisionCorps in 2007 and after working in both marketing and development, advanced to the Senior VP/Chief Development Officer,” he said. “She solicited the first $1 million gift for the agency and organized Eye Drop, our annual signature fundraiser, which is on par to surpass $1 million since its start in 2019.”
Most recently, she led the agency acquisition of the Little Rock, Arkansas facility and business lines, increasing the number of employees by 50 and anticipated revenue by 10 percent.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the important rehabilitation work provided by VisionCorps to people with vision impairments,” said Tomsheck. “We know the demand for our services is increasing as a growing number of individuals in Pennsylvania are likely to experience vision issues.”
