DeLaPlaine’s work leading the federally qualified health center (FQHC), or non-profit community-based health organization, has led to a number of developments for the organization and the community it serves. A recently opened medical clinic in Steelton opened up a pharmacy on site to counteract prescription deserts resulting from recent pharmacy closures.
“This pharmacy is part of Hamilton’s broader mission to close healthcare gaps and bring services directly to the people who need them most,” DeLaPlaine told PennLive at the time. “At Hamilton, we continuously study the economic and health access challenges facing the communities we serve.”
