Thomas Mullin stepped in as CEO of nationwide hospital and outpatient network Select Medical in September. Mullin first joined the Select Medical network, which is based in Cumberland County, in 2008 as market chief executive for the Select Specialty Hospital level of the business before moving up the leadership ranks at Select Medical’s core business.
Mullin leads Select Medical’s 104 critical illness recovery hospitals in 29 states, 36 rehabilitation hospitals in 14 states, and 1,919 outpatient rehabilitation clinics in 39 states and D.C. It’s one of the largest networks for facilities of this kind in the U.S.
Select Medical hospitals and rehabilitation centers have regularly been named among the best by publications like U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek. The network continues to expand, most recently in its acquisition of Landmark Hospital of Savannah in Georgia.
