Sutliff Saturn Inc. will close its Springettsbury
Township, York County,
Saturn dealership Dec. 11, said John Sutliff, president of the dealership.
The dealer is looking to sell the property at which it sold
Saturns since 1992, Sutliff said.
Rows of new and used Volkswagens have replaced the Saturns
that filled the Sutliff dealership lots at 13th and Paxton streets
in Harrisburg.
Harrisburg’s
Sutliff Saturn Inc. closed and reopened Friday as Sutliff Volkswagen, Sutliff
said. It was Sutliff’s first Saturn dealership. The company sold Saturns at the
Harrisburg
location since 1991. General Motors announced last year it would discontinue
the Saturn brand. Sutliff bought the former Victory Volkswagen dealership,
which closed this year in Swatara
Township. The Victory
building now is owned by a Lancaster County-based church.
The Harrisburg Saturn dealership was one of five Saturn
locations Sutliff opened throughout the midstate and beyond. Sutliff closed its
dealership in Manheim Township, Lancaster
County, last month. The
dealer expects to sell the property next month, and it will reopen as Lancaster
Faulkner BMW, Sutliff said.
Sutliff Saturn has consolidated its Saturn sales at its dealership
in Silver Spring Township,
Cumberland County, and Sutliff said he is looking
to replace the brand and keep the location open. The company is replacing its State College Saturn dealership with Sutliff Buick, GMC, Cadillac.
This item was modified from its previous version to correct that Sutliff Saturn is replacing its State College Saturn dealership with Sutliff Buick, GMC, Cadillac.
