The Gaming Control Board reported record revenue in May.

The combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming including during May2026 was $625,467,775 or 3.93% above revenue generated in May 2025, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board () reported. The revenue total was the highest monthly amount to date of revenue from the types of gaming regulated by the agency: and in , , , fantasy contests, and (VGTs).

The previous high of $623,092,053 was in January 2025. The during May of this year was $269,949,950.

Revenue from the play of retail slot machines in May was $232,063,095, a 3.20% increase in revenue over the $224,873,947 in May 2025. The number of slot machines in operation in May 2026 was 24,885 compared to 24,347 at the casinos in May 2025.

The month’s total tax revenue from the play of table games was $13,825,779. Casino games offered online generated $254,825,042 during May 2026, an increase of 9.44% over the $232,853,763 in May 2025. Tax revenue generated from iGaming during May 2026 was $117,688,979.

The total sports wagering handle for May 2026 was $595,569,802, which was 9.12% below the May 2025 handle of $655,358,227. The taxable revenue figure for May 2026 was $52,642,686, 11.4% lower from May 2025, when taxable revenue was $59,417,240. Tax revenue generated from sports wagering during May 2026 was $18,951,367.

Total adjusted revenue for May 2026 for VGTs was $3,567,771, which was 3.14% lower than the May 2025 revenue of $3,683,566. By the end of May 2026, all VGT Operators offered the maximum permitted five machines at each of the 75 qualified truck stop establishments, compared to five machines at each of the 73 establishments at this time last year. Tax revenue collected from the play of VGTs in May 2026 was $1,855,241.

May 2026 fantasy contests revenue was $1,124,858, an increase of 3.30% over the May 2025 revenue of $1,088,950. Tax revenue collected from the play of Fantasy Contests in May 2026 was $164,229.

The PGCB is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 18 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and VGTs at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.

The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and five mini-casinos (Category 4). A job generator, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming returned $2.98 billion in tax revenue and fees to Pennsylvanians in 2026.
