Heather Harris
Listen to this articleHeather Harris met Ron Weaver, president of Weaver Associates Inc., 19 years ago as his college intern. In several years, when he retires, Harris will lead the company.
“Her growth from intern to vice president has given me the ability to grow the company and know she will manage the business on the inside,” Weaver said. “She handles HR, purchasing, training of staff, accounts receivable, accounts payable and customer service for our largest customers. Keeping things on track is her best quality. Without her organizational skills we would be lost.”
Harris said Weaver has helped her become a strong, confident executive. Her key to success is the adage, “Treat others as you would want to be treated.”
“I sincerely believe that because we treat our employees fairly and respectfully, they work hard for us which, in turn, makes everyone successful,” she said. “We wouldn’t be where we are today as a company if we didn’t have our wonderful employees. The same concept applies with our customers. I am still a firm believer in the ‘Customer is right.’ If there is an issue with a customer’s order, I always ask, ‘What can I do to make it fair for you?’ I try to teach my children the same thing. We speak a lot about karma in our house. You get back
what you give out.”
Harris is active in the PTO at Rohrerstown Elementary School and the Superintendent Parental Advisory Council at Hempfield School District.
