Founded in 1973, Controls, Service & Engineering Co., Inc. (CSE) is a commercial, industrial and critical cooling heating and air conditioning service specialist. The company is headquartered in New Cumberland and services the Central Pennsylvania region.
“T. L. Christiansen set out to provide cost effective professional service to allow schools and businesses to increase their reliability and reduce their energy costs through their controls systems,” the company stated. “Starting as a sole propriety or, T. L. Christiansen had to sell the work during normal business hours and perform the service and repair work during the evenings and weekends.”
The company is now in second-generation ownership, with owner Ted Christiansen at the helm after having worked at CSE for over 35 years full time and 10 years prior to graduating from Bucknell University. According to the company, six other family members have worked in the business during their high school and college years.
The company aims to “continue to provide top quality, professional and reliable heating and air conditioning service to commercial, industrial, medical and critical cooling facilities plus school districts while providing rewarding career paths to our employees and passing to the third generation.”
As an active member of the community, CSE supports local charitable organizations by making donations each year.
“CSE will continue to succeed in adapting to future trends and challenges by listening to our customers, hiring and developing talented employees, monitoring local and national trends and actively participating in best practices contractor groups and trade associations,” the company stated.
