Providence Place Senior Living
Providence Place Senior Living was founded in 1998 by former Pennsylvania Gov. George M. Leader with a mission to provide independent living, assisted living and memory care services to seniors at prices accessible to the middle class. The family-owned company operates seven locations across central and eastern Pennsylvania, employs approximately 500 people and includes 10 family members among its shareholders and board of directors.
David Leader, son of the company’s founder, has served as president and CEO since 2013, bringing to the role a 20-year background in manufacturing and marketing with Fortune 500 companies. His leadership has sustained the company’s founding commitment to serving seniors in regions where mid-market options remain limited. “George M. Leader dedicated his life to this purpose,” the company stated, describing a mission that has remained unchanged across more than 25 years of operation.
Community and resident voice are central to Providence Place’s operating philosophy. “As we continue to evolve, we pride ourselves on creating a true community where residents, team members and families have a say in the way our communities operate and the activities and food provided,” the company stated. That participatory approach distinguishes Providence Place within the senior living sector.
