Mette expands family law practice in Pennsylvania with Cognetti team

Harrisburg-based Mette, Attorneys at Law announced that the team from Camp Hill-based Cognetti Law Group has joined the firm, bringing the entirety of the family law practice under the Mette umbrella including prominent family law attorney Maria P. Cognetti, Esq.
While the move brings Cognetti’s practice and personnel to the multi-specialty, multi-location firm, the team clarified that the arrangement is a hiring and practice transition rather than a traditional merger or acquisition.
“We are thrilled that an attorney of Maria’s caliber is now part of our team,” Benjamin Ried, attorney-at-law at Mette, said in a statement. “Growth isn’t a numbers game at Mette. We focus on adding attorneys and staff who, through their character, skills and experience, make us markedly better from day one. We’ve achieved that and more with the addition of Cognetti Law Group.”
Cognetti specializes in high-asset divorce, custody litigation, prenuptial agreements, family law mediation and corporate valuations within marital estates. She’s a past president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers.
Mette, which operates out of its Harrisburg, Trevose and Sunbury offices, will continue to serve its statewide and regional client base with the additional resources of Cognetti and her team. Cognetti’s clients will retain full continuity of representation.
