The Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare (LVBCH), whose membership base includes southcentral Pennsylvania companies, has selected Capital Rx, Inc. as one of its Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) Partners.
In making the selection, the LVBCH Board of Directors said in a statement it has endorsed Capital Rx as a Preferred Partner in addition to longtime partner Express Scripts.
Capital Rx participated in an extensive review process to earn the coalition’s Preferred Partner status. LVBCH said using a market-based approach, the coalition negotiates rates that are exclusive to its members and better than individual employers could obtain on their own.
“As prescription drugs have become an increasingly significant driver of our members’ benefit costs, we are pleased to offer LVBCH members the choice of two excellent prescription management plans,” said Carl Seitz, president, LVBCH. “This will enable our members to negotiate a pharmacy benefit plan that best fits the type and size of their organization. The end goal is to keep employer costs as low as possible while providing their employees and dependents with safe, high-quality medications and outstanding service.”
Capital Rx, a first-time LVBCH partner, continues to grow rapidly due to demand for its full-service PBM and pharmacy benefit administration solutions, LVBCH said.
Enabled by JUDI, Capital Rx said its proprietary enterprise health platform, which consolidates all pharmacy benefit-related workflows in one system, the company now serves millions of members across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans.
With several new Fortune 500 companies, health plan and health system clients, and other new partners backing its technology, Capital Rx continues to invest in the innovation needed to advance the nation’s electronic health care infrastructure, improve drug price visibility, and drive positive patient outcomes, Capital Rx said.
“We strive daily to set the bar in client alignment and delight plan members, delivering the best possible overall plan performance,” said Kristin Begley, PharmD, chief commercial officer at Capital Rx. “We appreciate LVBCH’s confidence in our model and commitment to providing their members with the flexibility to select solutions that meet their high standards for service capabilities and overall needs.”
“Capital Rx shares the coalition’s goals for improving quality, patient safety, transparency, and efficient care delivery,” Seitz said. “We are extremely pleased to join Capital Rx in bringing value to local employers through exclusive pricing and service options that we expect to yield significant savings for Coalition members.”
Coalition plans are available to the broker community, which is an integral part of LVBCH’s membership recruitment, the organization said.
