Harrisburg's fine-dining restaurant and bar Haydn's on Pine has closed.
Owners Terry Lee and Stuart Hanford shuttered the restaurant in early January to concentrate on an expansion project they are planning at their Lancaster County restaurant, Haydn Zug's, Lee said.
After Lee and Hanford sell Haydn's on Pine, the owners want to add a banquet room and 20-room intimate hotel on property they own next to Hadyn Zug's, Lee said. Haydn Zug's is at the corner of Route 72 and State Street in East Petersburg.
Haydn's on Pine operated in the former Parev restaurant at 215 Pine St. The Tuesday Club bar formerly occupied the second floor of the restaurant.
Lee and Hanford ran the restaurant for three and a half years. With $4.5 million in sales, they considered the restaurant a success, Lee said.
"Mostly, I needed to be able to get back to Lancaster to concentrate on Haydn Zug's," Lee said.
To move Haydn's on Pine, the owners have substantially lowered their sale price for it, he said. The sale price is about $400,000, and that is negotiable, Lee said. That includes the liquor license, a $100,000 wine cellar and all the alcohol in the restaurant. There are four interested parties, and the owners are still accepting offers.
