The awards recognize the quality , safety performance, and operational leadership, demonstrated in build projects completed in 2025 by Benchmark Construction, which is headquartered in with a regional office in Ellicott City, Md.

“These recognitions reflect the dedication of our entire team, from project planning through execution, to delivering safe, high-quality work for our clients,” President/CEO Robert Brandt III said in a statement. “We are proud of our people and grateful for the partnerships that make this level of performance possible.”

Associated Builders and Contractors () is a established in 1950 with 67 chapters and more than 23,000 members.

According to a release, Benchmark was named an ABC Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC), a credential awarded to contractors that demonstrate industry-leading performance in quality, safety, development, and community engagement. Only a select group of contractors nationwide earns this designation each year.

Benchmark was also recognized as an ABC Top Performer, earning national distinction for outstanding achievements in health and safety, quality, and project excellence. Companies named Top Performers must also achieve Platinum status in ABC’s STEP Health and Safety Management System and maintain Accredited Quality Contractor credentials.

Benchmark earned three national ABC Excellence in Construction Awards, presented on March 10, in Salt Lake City, highlighting standout project performance in several categories:

  • Eagle Award (First Place) for the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Emergency Department Expansion & Renovation, Lancaster;
  • Pyramid Award (Second Place) for Berger Communities’ 202 Queen Apartments, Lancaster;
  • Productivity Award, a national bonus award recognizing innovative planning and execution methods that supported operational continuity during construction at the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Emergency Department Expansion project.

The Productivity Award is presented to a limited number of Eagle Award recipients each year and recognizes projects that demonstrate exceptional coordination, sequencing, and workflow management in complex, live environments, per the release.

In addition, Benchmark received the ABC Health & Safety Excellence Award, marking the company’s fourth national safety award from ABC. This honor recognizes contractors that implement best-in-class safety programs and achieve measurable results in protecting workers and project partners

Through participation in programs such as ABC’s STEP Health and Safety Management System and the Accredited Quality Contractor initiative, Benchmark continues to prioritize workforce development, safety leadership, and long-term value for clients and communities.
