York County Economic Alliance shared a reminder about Local Share Account grants for nonprofit organizations. According to a medial release, the grants are funded through the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), which provides for distribution of gaming revenues to support statewide projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Nonprofit organizations are eligible for the LSA programs but must apply through an eligible applicant including municipalities or an economic development entity such as the York County Economic Alliance. Projects funded with LSA grants must be owned and maintained by a nonprofit organization.
According to the media release, York County nonprofit organizations may apply for a 2026 Round, LSA Category 4 Facilities –York County, or an LSA – Statewide grant, utilizing YCEA as the eligible applicant. Information and forms are available on YCEA’s website: https://www.yceapa.org/economic-development/financing/.
Organizations may indicate their intent to apply for a grant through YCEA, by submitting a completed YCEA Summary Form. Deadline to submit the summary form for an LSA Category 4 Facilities grant is June 29. It should be submitted to Kenetha Hansen, [email protected] and Dawn Lenz, [email protected].
Deadline to submit the summary form for an LSA Statewide grant is August 28. It should be submitted to Kenetha Hansen, [email protected] and Dawn Lenz [email protected].
Upon receipt and review of the completed summary form, YCEA will share a link to a Dropbox folder with the application and required exhibits: Deadline to submit application/exhibits for an LSA Category 4 Facilities grant is August 14. Deadline to submit application/exhibits for an LSA Statewide Grant is October 15. Applications must be submitted through the Dropbox link.
The media release states that the YCEA team will only process complete applications that include all required exhibits. The nonprofit must remit payment of YCEA’s non-refundable $600 LSA application fee prior to application processing. Upon receiving a grant award, YCEA will impose a grant fee of 1.5% of the LSA award amount; the grant fee will not be funded with LSA grant proceeds.
Although municipalities may apply for LSA grants directly to the state, YCEA staff can assist with questions about the LSA program and grant process.
