Harrisburg-based electronics wholesaler D&H Distributing is the fourth largest private company in Pennsylvania and the 84th largest in the country, according to the most recent Forbes List of America’s Largest Private Companies.

In the same year that it reached $5 billion in revenue, D&H has climbed 19 places in the annual Forbes list from its spot as the 103rd largest company in 2020.

The company distributes IT, business technology, electronics, consumer and home solutions for resellers and retailers. It employs 1,424 people—around 1,000 of which are based in Harrisburg.

D&H is joined on the list by Altoona-based Sheetz at 75, Pitsburgh-based Giant Eagle at 36, Media-based Wawa at 29, Willow Grove-based Asplundh Tree Expert at 98 and Eighty Four-based 84 Lumber at 99.

The announcement comes after D&H’s unveiled its new built for growth, generations and giving initiative, the company wrote in a press release.

The distributor’s rise in revenues compared to other businesses on the private companies list is an example of D&H’s ongoing growth strategy, also exemplified by notable investments in its business such as the addition of 150+ new team members, plus an estimated $375 million in monthly credit extensions for partners this fiscal year,” the company wrote in the release.
