Cumberland County’s Adult and Parole Office is moving.

Effective May 28, the office is relocating to 1100 Claremont Road in , the former location of Aging & Community Services. Drug testing services will continue at , 20 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.

“It has been over 15 years since the staff has been in the same building,” Chief of Adult Probation and Parole Darby Christlieb said in a statement. “Having staff in one location will allow us to better address the needs of people on pretrial, probation, and .”

At this time, 39 staff members are housed in two separate offices at 4 East Liberty Avenue and 37 East High Street. These offices will remain open during the move.

According to a release, the  Adult Probation Office’s mission is to improve the quality of life for justice-involved individuals by focusing on and building upon their strengths while working to reduce thinking errors and harmful behavior patterns. Staff members are focused on meeting the individual needs of people on supervision through the use of evidence-based practices and by providing opportunities for and treatment. By doing this, they aim to reduce recidivism and increase public safety, per the release.
