Lititz’s Main Street Program accredited nonprofit, Venture Lititz, has named Barley Snyder partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott as the president of its board of directors.
Elliott had served as a director of the nonprofit’s board for more than two years before taking on her new role as president. As a member of the Main Street Program, Venture Lititz focuses on creating an attractive Lititz to bring in people, investment and commerce.
The nonprofit plans and promotes community events throughout the year that are designed to enhance pride of place for locals and grow the town’s tourism economy.
“Lititz, I believe, has one of the best small-town business communities in the state and even beyond,” said Elliott. “The community thrives on businesses and people working together to build the town up, and it’s been very successful in that. Venture Lititz is there to guide those efforts and promote the businesses that help make this such a great town.”
Elliot succeeds former president James Wenger, who held the role since 2011. Wenger is a principal at Lititz-based architecture and planning firm, Derck & Edson.
“I’m proud to follow in the footsteps of Jim Wenger, past president for close to a decade, whose tremendous efforts have made Lititz a better place to live, to visit and to work, and will look to additional avenues to make Lititz a thriving community,” said Elliott.
Elliott is a partner in the Barley Snyder Real Estate Practice Group, the Construction Industry Group and others. She is a member of the development committee at the Lititz Rec Center.
