“As a member of the firm’s Energy & Environmental and Public Finance & Government Services practice groups, I’m responsible for counseling our clients on water, sewer and stormwater utility services, as well as electricity, natural gas and oil pipeline matters,” said McNees’ Adeolu Bakare. “I also counsel clients on a variety of municipal law matters. Aside from my core practice, I chair McNees’ Pro Bono Committee, which requires coordination of the firm’s pro bono activity and policies.”

The biggest challenge he faced last year was a major health setback, a first during his professional career. “Due to a back injury, my mobility was limited for the first several months of 2022. Thanks to the professionals at the Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania, I was able to work my way back ahead of schedule. However, while I was still physically limited, managing my workload became a challenge. Relying on my team allowed me to … continue managing projects during my recovery.”

Bakare said he is inspired by his parents, who instilled the values of hard work and empathy in him and his sisters. His wife inspires him every day as well with her professionalism and humility. “I also draw a lot of inspiration from admiring architecture. The creativity and technical proficiency on display with so many beautiful buildings inspires me to approach my work with the same energy and diligence.”
