Chef Keith Taylor, a U.S. Army veteran and award-winning BBQ chef, will open Zachary’s BBQ & Soul inside the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center.
Taylor’s newest venture is set to open July 6, serving lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch at the Midtown Arts Center, in the historic 34,000-square-foot foot multi-venue arts, dining and entertainment complex at 1110 N. Third St.
The Zachary’s BBQ & Soul menu will feature offerings such as pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs and Caribbean jerk barbecue chicken available as sandwiches, platters or by the pound. Diners will also find wings, sides and specialties including Creole jambalaya, po’boy and fried chicken sandwiches, plus the “impossible” burger, shrimp, salads, desserts and more.
Fifty percent of sales from the grilled sticky bun sundae dessert made with Dad’s Hat PA Whiskey maple glaze will benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
A beloved city landmark that is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center recently underwent an extensive renovation and restoration. The Arts Center is set to begin another $1 million renovation to complete the conversion of the pool and entertainment areas and upgrade the Capitol Room with a balcony, bars and green rooms. Fueled by a recent infusion of capital and a state redevelopment grant, new ownership aims to spur economic development in the neighborhood.
“I have operated locations in and around the Philadelphia area, and now I’m excited to expand to Harrisburg,” said Taylor. “The vision the HMAC team has for the renovations is incredible, and I’m just really thankful to be a part of it.”
