Family Medicine Associates of York has joined WellSpan Health‘s network.
WellSpan Health said Wednesday the practice opened Monday as WellSpan Family Medicine – Forrest Street at 54 S. Forrest St.
“Bringing the provider, staff, and patients of this practice into the WellSpan Health family will allow us to expand access to the highest quality, affordable care to the residents of West York, with a care team who knows their community and those community members can trust,” said Dr. Alyssa Moyer, president, WellSpan York Hospital and vice president, WellSpan Health.
“Patients in York have relied on the providers at this practice for over 15 years. By joining forces, we can ensure that our patients continue to receive the outstanding care they have come to expect,” Moyer said.
WellSpan Family Medicine – Forrest Street will continue to offer primary care services to patients throughout the York community, including expert medical care for acute illnesses, injuries, chronic conditions, and preventative care, WellSpan said.
As part of WellSpan Health, the practice will have access to a vast network of primary care and specialty practices, providing patients, employers, and payers with more options and a seamless continuum of care, the network said.
WellSpan said earlier this week it has a definitive agreement to acquire Evangelical Community Hospital in Union County and its network of care serving the Central Susquehanna Valley.
Pending regulatory approvals, the deal should be completed by July 1, WellSpan said.
