WGAL 8 will launch of WGAL NEWS 8 AT 7PM: THE THREAD Monday, Sept. 14.
According to a media release, the multiplatform half-hour newscast will air at 7 p.m. and will be anchored by Tasmin Mahfuz and Michael Fuller, who are both currently part of News 8’s news team.
“At 7 o’clock, we’re going beyond the news of the day. This newscast gives our journalists more time to follow the facts, connect issues with possible solutions, and deliver meaningful context to stories our viewers are talking about,” said Kristin Kay, WGAL 8 News Director, in the media release.
According to the media release, the program reimagines local news by combining a fresh look at the day’s biggest headlines and weather with in-depth local storytelling that goes beyond the surface on featured topics each night.
“The team here at WGAL 8 embraces our responsibility to be there every day with dependable, meaningful local coverage. THE THREAD is an innovative approach to local news built on WGAL’s long legacy of trusted reporting and commitment to the community, giving viewers a closer look at the stories impacting their lives,” said Cindy DeLuca, WGAL 8 President and General Manager, in the media release.
WGAL NEWS 8 AT 7PM: THE THREAD will air weeknights from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on WGAL 8, following NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas, starting Monday, Sept. 14. As part of the schedule change, Entertainment Tonight will air weeknights at 7:30 p.m. on WGAL 8.
