Technica to lay off 100 workers at New Cumberland facility by sept. 30
Technica LLC plans to lay-off 100-workers at its New Cumberland facility by Sept. 30 according to a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) dated July 31 and filed with the state Department of Labor & Industry this month.
According to Technica’s website, the Charleston, South Carolina-based company, is a global provider of support solutions to the defense industry. The WARN notification indicates that the layoffs are the result of the end of a Defense Logistics Agency task order. It will impact all employees at the New Cumberland location who are working on the task order.
The Federal WARN Act requires all employers who participate in a possible mass layoff or plant closing to provide affected employees with at least 60 calendar days with written notice of the termination of their employment.
