Red Land Senior Center relocates to temporary location
The Red Land Senior Center (RLSC) has moved to a temporary location, The Valley Grange Hall, at 1230 Rosstown Road in Lewisberry.
According to a release, all regular activities and services, including the Senior Meal Program, will continue at this location, although some offerings may be temporarily adjusted due to space and facility limitations. Updates will be posted regularly on the RLSC website and Facebook page.
“The Red Land Senior Center is sincerely grateful to the Valley Grange #1360 for the generous offer to use their hall as a temporary location,” RLSC Board President Bob Gasswint said in a statement. “The Valley Grange organization is a great community-minded organization and we are proud to partner with them while our permanent home goes through the legal and renovation processes.
“This temporary location ensures that the RLSC can continue serving the region’s seniors without interruption.”
RLSC announced in April it had won a bid to purchase the Lewisberry Borough Community Building, located at 501 Market Street, Lewisberry, from the Borough of Lewisberry. This property will become the organization’s permanent home after completing the required legal processes and renovations. Valley Grange Hall is allowing RLSC to maintain operations and continue supporting area seniors until its permanent move.
The Red Land Senior Center has provided services to northern York County seniors for more than 50 years. Services include information and referral resources, daily meals served by donation only, health screenings, educational seminars, recreational and fitness programs, socialization opportunities, day trips, volunteer coordination, and more.
