Peoples Security Bank & Trust Company is donating $10,000 to support Lancaster-area nonprofits.
The donations followed Peoples Security Bank & Trust Company‘s grand opening of its new Manheim Township branch at The Shoppes at Landis Valley with $5,000 donations to Lancaster’s Bench Mark Program and Power Packs Project.
“Supporting organizations that help families and young people thrive is central to who we are,” Kevin Boland, SVP, Market Executive at Peoples Security Bank & Trust, said in a statement. “Bench Mark and Power Packs Project are doing life-changing work—helping local youth develop leadership skills and ensuring families have access to nutritious meals. We’re proud to help them continue their mission.”
The Bench Mark Program was founded in 2014 and seeks to help transform the lives of underserved youth in Lancaster through mentorship, fitness, and personal growth. According to a release, the program began as a small weightlifting mentorship initiative and has evolved into a community program where at-risk teens build discipline, self-confidence, and leadership skills in a supportive, gym-based environment.
Since 2005, Power Packs Project has fought childhood hunger by providing weekend food assistance and teaching families how to prepare nutritious, low-cost meals. Partnering with schools across Lancaster County—including the Manheim Township School District—Power Packs distributes meal kits and recipes designed to feed families for under $5 per meal, helping children return to school on Mondays ready to learn. The program supports students in more than 40 schools throughout the region, reaching thousands of children each week.
