Penn State Health names Wysock VP of facilities

Joe Wysock has been appointed by Penn State its vice president of facilities.

The appointment follows Wysock’s interim service in the role. According to a release, Wysock will continue to lead systemwide facilities strategy and operations, supporting safe, efficient and patient-centered care environments across the organization.

“I am proud to have the opportunity to lead the continued growth of Penn State Health throughout in this leadership role,” Wysock said in a statement. “Our department remains dedicated to supporting high-quality patient care by maintaining safe, reliable and compliant facilities.”

Along with serving as interim vice president of facilities for the , Wysock maintained his role as director of facilities for the West Shore region, where he oversaw facilities operations for , Holy Spirit Medical Center, , and numerous outpatient locations, per the release. Regulatory oversight, capital planning, operational budgeting and strengthening compliance processes to support Joint Commission surveys were among Wysock’s responsibilities.

“Since stepping into the interim position, Joe has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and a strong commitment to advancing our team’s goals,” said David Swift, senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Penn State Health. “His steady guidance and high-quality work during this period have made a meaningful impact, and this appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his contributions.”

Wysock has over a decade of healthcare facilities leadership experience, including management, capital planning and enterprise-level facilities operations. Wysock said his focus is to strengthen the facilities department’s commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance and service excellence across the health system.

A native of , Wysock started his career in as a construction project manager at in 2014. He spent nine years as a project manager and director of plant operations for in Lancaster before returning to Penn State Health in 2024.
