The York Builders Association installed Nicholas Sabold of Sabold Construction as its president for 2020.
Sabold is the owner of the York Township-based construction company and has been working locally in the construction industry for more than two decades. He started working summers for his uncle’s company, Bill Sabold Building & Remodeling, when he was 14. He later graduated from York County School of Technology with a focus in carpentry and worked full time for his uncle.
While working for his uncle, Sabold pursued his own home remodeling business, launching Sabold Construction and eventually purchasing his own shop in Red Lion in 2004. He joined the York Builders Association in 2006, becoming active on various boards like the YBA Remodelers Council.
Besides his work with the YBA, Sabold has been a volunteer firefighter with the Yoe Fire Company for more than 25 years and currently serves as a trustee.
In his role as president Sabol wants to bring awareness to the shortage of workers in the skilled trades and provide resources for people looking for jobs in those fields.
“Along with being the go-to resource in York County for the building and remodeling industry and growing awareness about opportunities in the trades, I look forward to working with our membership to help them build their businesses and find value in association membership,” Sabold said.
The YBA is a non-profit organization chartered in 1964 and affiliated with the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Consisting of more than 400 members, the YBA’s mission is to advocate for the building industry by promoting standards of ethics and educational services.
