Kim Neidlinger, chief operational officer for , said an open house Jan. 25 will officially launch the venture she and brother Rob started about three years ago.

“We thought this was a great idea after seeing a need in the community,” she said. “We went and toured a lot of facilities, and we made this one to stand out from the others.”

Silver Spring Personal Care Home, located on 10 acres at 125 State Road in Silver Spring Township has 57 rooms and 64 beds. Neidlinger said the home will provide continuing care for seniors including independent living, assisted living, end-of-life care, respite, and short and long-term rehabilitation.

“Our purpose is to offer the best care in the region that enriches the quality of our residents’ lives,” she said.

Each room has siding around the door, a roof and a mailbox to make residents feel at home, Neidlinger said. “It’s very unique and each room has granite countertops.”

The facility has a common space with 10-foot ceilings and a covered patio.

“This is our first venture,” she said. “We are very confident in the venture with our team director, Dave Paveletz who has a strong background in assisted living.”

The facility will employ about 40 full-time staff. Neidlinger said hiring has not been an issue because the department heads have people who followed them. “We are about two-thirds of the way to a full staff.”

The first resident is expected to move in Jan. 30 and Neidlinger said applications have been received for several others. She expects to receive state approval for occupancy Friday.

The facility, which Neidlinger said has received “tremendous” support from the neighborhood, will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
