A new Gettysburg eatery will open Easter Sunday at the Barn Resort, formerly Boyd’s Bear Country.
According to owner and CEO Brian Smith, The Farmhouse restaurant will open to the public as part of a phased opening of the destination center.
The newly renovated space honors the tradition and hometown values of Gettysburg with exceptional quality dining and customer service, he said.
Smith, who purchased the property with a dream and passion for creating a destination that is known for premier hospitality, said he and his wife Rachel are committed to investing in the community and creating family-friendly spaces.
“This landmark property is beloved by the Gettysburg community, and I am so excited to see it brought back to life with new purpose and potential,” Smith said. “The Barn Resort will be a space where so many memories will be made over the years and where the community can come together to enjoy the unique experiences this region has to offer.”
A gift shop, Cellar 75 Bar and an arcade will also open March 31.
The remainder of the Barn Resort is still under construction and Smith said a grand opening will be held upon completion.
The Farmhouse Executive Chef Matt Jacobs has created a menu that includes a variety of traditional American foods served buffet-style, featuring local and seasonal specialties alongside family-friendly and dietary-conscious selections.
“My goal is to create dishes that are both artistically inspired and customer-focused, delivering a truly memorable dining experience,” Jacobs said. “I believe that the best dishes strike a balance between creativity and familiarity, introducing customers to new flavors while still delivering on their expectations.”
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
