Grauer's Paint & Decorating Adds Sixth Location Through Phillips Paint & Decorating Transition

LANCASTER, Pa. (June 30, 2026) — Grauer’s Paint & Decorating, a family-owned Benjamin
Moore and Hunter Douglas dealer based in Lancaster County, has acquired Phillips Paint and
Decorating. Phillips is located on Centerville Road in Centerville, and the store’s last day will be
July 8. It will be closed on July 9 and reopen as Grauer’s on July 10.
“Phillips has a strong reputation in the market, and we see this as a great match in terms of
culture, values, and long-term vision,” said Grauer’s owner Chad Newcomer. “This merger will
create new opportunities for growth, add value for our customers and employees, and build
upon the strengths of both organizations.”
The Phillips team will remain through the transition. Jim Doran, the former owner of Phillips, will
stay on as Store Manager. The store will continue to offer Benjamin Moore paint, Hunter
Douglas window treatments, and a wide selection of wallpaper and accessories. As part of
Grauer’s, it will also benefit from larger inventory, ability to place special orders, and
contractor delivery.
“This merger strengthens Grauer’s custom window treatment division, allowing us to better
serve customers throughout the region with high-quality, affordable window treatment solutions
backed by expert service and design,” added Newcomer.
Grauer’s has been serving customers in Central Pennsylvania since 1934. Having expanded
into Carlisle last June, the purchase of Phillips marks Grauer’s second acquisition in just over a
year. Grauer’s also has locations in Lancaster, Lititz, Reading, and Mechanicsburg.
