With a background in airport and terminal support infrastructure investments, Realterm’s partnership makes possible a 105,000-square-foot cargo space designed for single or multi-tenant operations.

MDT representatives report the airport processed more than 55,000 tons of cargo in 2025, with major companies like , Bayer and Coca-Cola actively investing in the region.

Realterm took part in the $270 million consolidated cargo handling center at John F. Kennedy International Airport, which opened in 2025.

The new development at MDT will sit directly adjacent to the airfield apron, allowing aircraft to park at the building’s doors and cargo to move straight from plane to warehouse. The facility could be subdivided for up to four tenants, with the design including eight air-side drive-in doors, 40 land-loading dock doors and more than 180 vehicle parking spots. The building will be developed to LEED-certified standards and include capabilities like cooler spaces, floor scales and pallet lifts.

“MDT recently completed a $60 million expansion of our airside cargo apron and we are truly excited about the partnership with Realterm and the prospect of a new state-of-the-art modern air cargo facility, which will complement that infrastructure investment,” , executive director of SARAA, said in a release.
