In 2025, Gannett Fleming TranSystems was born by combining more than a century of innovation, expertise, and dedication to sustainability. Gannett Fleming was founded in 1915 by Farley Gannett, and TranSystems was founded in 1966 by Herbert Johnson, Gerald Brickell, and Edward Mulcahy. Both firms had a similar mission—to address the toughest infrastructure challenges the world had ever seen.

Before merging, Gannett Fleming and TranSystems were separate leaders in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
