Headquartered in Lancaster, Fulton Bank is a community bank in the Mid-Atlantic region. Fulton Bank said it seeks to change lives for the better by building strong customer relationships. It employs 3,400 people.

The Fulton Bank story began in 1882 in Lancaster, where local merchants and farmers formed Fulton National Bank to provide credit to the growing agricultural industry in central Pennsylvania. It was named after Robert Fulton, the inventor of the first commercially successful steamboat. The bank started to acquire other local banks in the 1940s and today serves customers across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.

Fulton Bank has faced numerous challenges, ranging from industry financial crises to a global pandemic. Last year, CEO Curt Myers led an incredible effort for Fulton Bank in acquiring substantially all the assets of Republic First Bank. With the transaction, Fulton Bank significantly advanced its growth plan in a strategically important market and nearly doubled its presence in the Philadelphia market with combined company deposits of more than $8 billion.

Myers said the bank is committed to changing lives for the better; a vision that has allowed the bank to navigate challenging times as well as drive growth. Its core values prioritize customer service, ethical conduct, and community impact.

“At Fulton Bank, we adapt to changing customer trends and preferences and regularly introduce new opportunities for customers to bank online and on mobile. We focus on serving as trusted advisors to our customers, helping them to navigate challenges ranging from economic downturns to disruptive events like the Covid-19 pandemic, when we supported thousands of small businesses with financing,” he said.

Each Fulton employee has the power to shape, strengthen, and inspire the bank’s culture through positive action and change. “’The Fulton Experience’, a set of concepts that define our values, is a critical part of sustaining Fulton’s culture and is woven into everything Fulton does. It positively impacts leaders’ ability to improve productivity, accountability, customer focus and communication, and employees’ ability to engage in meaningful work and professional development,” Myers said.

Fulton looks to support the communities it serves through the Fulton Forward initiative. In 2022 and 2023, Fulton made $9.99 million in charitable contributions, and employees volunteered more than 12,800 hours in 2023 alone. The Fulton Forward Foundation, an independent, nonprofit private foundation funded by Fulton Bank, awards Impact Grants of $20,000 or more to 501(c)3 community organizations that advance economic empowerment in underserved communities.

“A customer-focused approach to banking helps Fulton Bank stay competitive. As trusted financial advisors in the communities we serve, we look at what our customers want and need and work to provide solutions and resources that enable individuals and families to meet their financial goals. Critical to this effort is Fulton’s commitment to the type of support that enables communities to thrive, including products and programs that provide access to homeownership, education and career opportunities,” Myers said.
