A Central Pennsylvania bank has been honored by Forbes.
Mid Penn Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc., was named recently to Forbes’ 2026 list of America’s Best Banks.
Using data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence, Forbes’ 17th annual list evaluated the performance of the 200 largest publicly traded banks and thrifts in the United States. The evaluation measured growth, credit quality, and profitability for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2025, and stock performance in the 12 months through Jan. 23, 2025.
“We are honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Banks,” Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory G. Ritrievi said in a statement. “Recognition like this is earned over time through sound practices, thoughtful decision-making, and a team that works diligently to keep the Bank on solid footing. We are proud to operate a strong, stable institution that customers and communities can rely on now and well into the future.”
According to a release, the rankings are based on 11 performance measures, including 10 equally weighted financial metrics that evaluate areas such as returns, margins, efficiency, and asset quality, with stock performance included as an additional factor in the overall assessment.
Mid Penn Bank has served the community since 1868. It operates 62 retail locations throughout Pennsylvania and central and southern New Jersey and has total assets of approximately $7 billion.
