Barley Snyder attorney David J. Freedman was named to a Pennsylvania Bar Association task force that will monitor the impact of COVID-19 on the legal profession and prepare the industry with appropriate responses.

Freedman, who also serves as the president-elect of the board of directors of the Lancaster County Bar Association, will be one of 19 task force members collaborating on advice for the legal profession to “rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to an announcement from the Lancaster-based Barley Snyder.

Freedman said he’s looking forward to working among “some of the state’s brightest legal minds” to help bar association members develop a way to move forward during the “unprecedented” time caused by the pandemic.

“As we’ve seen so far, different areas of the state are going to react differently to the pandemic and will have varying needs and questions,” Freedman said. “It makes sense for the [Pennsylvania Bar Association] to bring together attorneys from across Pennsylvania to coordinate these efforts.

A member of the Lancaster-based law firm’s practice groups for employment, education and immigration law, and industry groups for hospitality, food and agribusiness, Freedman was named “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year” by the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center.
