Amazon has launched a new same-day delivery site in Middletown, expanding its network in and creating jobs with fulfillment tech.

Streamlined operations, including the assistance of hundreds of robots, employees at this Same-Day Delivery site can pick and pack customer orders in minutes for delivery, according to a release. Located at 3751 E. Harrisburg Pike, this smaller, newer-generation was designed for speed –allowing for the fulfillment, sorting, and delivery of packages all from one site, per the release.

The Same-Day Delivery site joins a neighboring Amazon distribution center on E. Harrisburg Pike, which opened in 2024. That facility, known as an inbound “cross-dock” site, receives and consolidates products from vendors, enabling bulk shipments of inventory into our broader fulfillment network. Combined, both buildings have more than 1,000 employees.

“Amazon has established itself as a vital economic partner throughout , creating thousands of good-paying jobs with benefits and career advancement opportunities, and generating significant investment in communities both large and small,” Luke Bernstein, president and CEO of the , said in a statement. “Their presence is helping revitalize local economies, strengthen our development initiatives, and support countless small businesses through their marketplace platform.”

Amazon operations footprint across the commonwealth includes 23 fulfillment and sortation centers and 20 last-mile delivery stations.

Two other existing distribution centers in the region – one in and one in Lewisberry – will be undergoing renovations in the coming months. The upgrades will modernize both buildings into additional fulfillment centers to speed up Amazon’s fulfillment network in the region.

The combined investment of the four buildings totals more than $200M.

“This investment in the is a representation of what we do best at Amazon – innovating on behalf of customers, and investing in our communities and employees,” said Maura Kennedy, Amazon’s economic development lead for Pennsylvania. “We are especially proud of these investments because of what it means for the region – faster, more convenient service for our customers, and great career opportunities with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.”

Amazon has invested more than $26 billion in Pennsylvania since 2010, including infrastructure and compensation to employees, and has created more than 27,000 direct jobs across the commonwealth. The investments support an additional 37,100 indirect jobs, in fields like construction and professional services, and have contributed more than $26 billion to the Pennsylvania GDP, on top of the company’s direct investments.

Full-time employees at Amazon receive health, vision and dental insurance, up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave, and access to Amazon’s innovative Career Choice program that prepays tuition for courses in high-demand fields.
