Airline announces new nonstop flight, low fares from Harrisburg to Florida
New nonstop, low-fare flights to 14 cities around the country from various airports, including Harrisburg, have been announced by Allegiant Travel Company.
The new route to Jacksonville International Airport in Florida from Harrisburg International Airport begins June 14 and has one-way fares starting at $49.
“We’re extremely grateful for the tremendous partnership we’ve had with Allegiant for more than a decade,” Timothy Edwards, Harrisburg International Airport’s executive director, said in a statement. “Jacksonville becomes the sixth nonstop destination served in Florida and eighth overall from Harrisburg.
“People throughout Central Pennsylvania have come to rely on Allegiant’s low fares and quality service when going on vacation and visiting family and friends. Beginning in June, for the first time ever, travelers flying to Northeast Florida will have a convenient and affordable option from Harrisburg.”
Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief revenue officer, said the expansion caters to passengers and communities the company believes has been overlooked by other carriers.
“Allegiant’s unique business model, connecting small-to-medium sized cities to vacation destinations, creates accessible travel options not otherwise available in what we believe are underserved markets,” said Wells. “We know travelers enjoy the convenience of nonstop flights departing from their neighborhood airport.”
