York-based RG Group, a provider of motion control, fluid handling, and automation solutions, has acquired ASAP Hydraulics of central Pennsylvania.
Specializing in hydraulic and industrial hose, fittings and assemblies, ASAP Hydraulics has retail locations in Exton, Gap, and State College.
According to a release, the acquisition enables RG Group to expand its product offerings and strengthen its presence in central Pennsylvania.
“We are excited to welcome ASAP Hydraulics to the RG Group team,” RG Group CEO Steve Bennis said in a statement. “Bill (Rhoad) and Tom (Thorpe) have built a business that aligns with our core values, which is incredibly important to us. This is our second acquisition of 2024 and demonstrates our commitment to expanding RG Group’s footprint in the mid-Atlantic region.”
Said Patrick Gross, president and COO of RG Group, “I have gotten to know Bill, Tom and the entire ASAP team well over the past year. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent service to their existing customers and welcoming new ones for many years to come.”
Rhoad, president of ASAP Hydraulics, said family-owned and operated RG Group is a natural fit for ASAP Hydraulics.
“Their honest and straightforward approach to business and acquisitions was refreshing,” said Rhoad. “As I close out a 50-year career in industrial sales, I am confident that my legacy will continue. I look forward to supporting RG Group in any way I can moving forward.”
Added Thorpe, “Joining RG Group allows ASAP Hydraulics to provide State College and the surrounding region with a wide range of hydraulic technology, engineering resources, services and capabilities previously unavailable from a local company. I am excited to be a part of this tremendous growth opportunity. Both RG Group and ASAP Hydraulics have always been family-owned and managed, which creates a special connection between the community, the business and our employees.”
