A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by York College of Pennsylvania and Milton Hershey School (MHS) to enhance their collaboration in supporting low-income and first-generation students.
The agreement formalizes a partnership aimed at providing MHS graduates with greater access to academic, financial, and career resources at York College, according to a release.
“We want to strengthen our partnership with York,” MHS Manager of Higher Education and Support Keri Ambrocik said in a statement. “We want to see more of our students go on to higher education and succeed in what they are doing. We want our students to have a high level of support on the campus they are attending, and we know York is one of the places that does that well.”
The partnership includes the following key initiatives:
“Our kids are like family. And when we launch them, we want them to go to a place where they are treated the same way,” said Senior Director of Graduate Programs and Success at MHS Bob Ebert. “York has proven to be that.”
York College looks to create more opportunities for MHS students.
“York College has long been committed to providing access and opportunity for students who are ready to thrive in a supportive academic environment,” said Dr. Thomas Burns, president of York College. “This partnership ensures that MHS graduates receive the guidance, resources, and encouragement they need to achieve their goals.”
York College Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Brian Hazlett said the college is proud to be a destination for MHS graduates and welcomes more.
“Milton Hershey School does an incredible job preparing students for the next step in their journey,” said Hazlett. “York College is proud to be a destination where MHS graduates can continue their education with a strong network of support. We look forward to welcoming more MHS students to campus and helping them succeed.”
