Where to get a free pretzel on National Pretzel Day

Sure, it’s the day to go cast your vote in the primary election. But April 26 is also a day to celebrate one of the Keystone State’s favorite snacks.
National Pretzel Day originated in 2003 when Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell wanted to acknowledge the importance of the pretzel to the state’s history and economy, according to nationaldaycalendar.com.
Today, Pennsylvania is the center of American pretzel production for both hard and soft pretzels, producing 80 percent of the nation’s pretzels.
The day is surely to be celebrated across the country, as the average American consumes about 1.5 pounds of pretzels per year.
In celebration of National Pretzel Day, several businesses around Central Pennsylvania are offering deals and freebies.

For the ninth year in a row, everyone gets a free pretzel just for walking through the door. As a bonus, the first 100 people in line at each store will receive a card to redeem a free pretzel every day in May.
