Dauphin County is one of 11 Pennsylvania school districts to receive funding for new, clean school buses aimed at reducing schoolchildren’s exposure to air pollutants, Gov. Tom Wolf announced. 

Environmental officials today toured farms in Lancaster and Dauphin counties to promote healthy farms, clean water and conservation.  

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is supplying hundreds of thousands of dollars to counties in the Chesapeake Bay watershed to pay for local coordinators to develop plans to reduce water pollution.

Dauphin County has received $300,000 in new federal brownfields funding, which will benefit environmental assessment work needed to redevelop the former Harrisburg State Hospital campus.

Dauphin County will hold a news conference today to announce new federal brownfield funding to support redevelopment. The county used a portion of its last allocation for an environmental assessment of the former Hummelstown municipal complex, which is now slated to house Rubber Soul Brewing.
