Susan Graham Consulting is a recruiting agency in Hershey. It is 100% woman owned and as of 2023 had 45 employees.
The agency started in 2006 as an IT staffing firm, but quickly become an extension of many HR teams.
“I am very proud to have started my business 18 years ago with only a computer and list of loyal colleagues to whom I reached out to help me grow my company. I love networking with strong woman who have struck out on their own – we definitely share a camaraderie and bond I value more than anything,” said President Susan Graham.
As a women-owned business owner, Graham said her biggest challenge has been the misconception that it would be easy to get a bank to give her a line of credit.
“I needed cash in my early years as I was growing my payroll and was not treated well by several banks claiming to be ‘women business friendly,’” she said. “Finally a small, local bank put their faith in me and I was able to thrive. But it was hard to initially have so many doors close when I needed help as a new business”
Susan Graham Consulting is 100% women run. Graham said she is proud of that fact as well as the dedication, loyalty and strength of her team of women.
“We support and volunteer for several woman owned non-profits in our community and look for opportunities to mentor women looking to break out on their own,” she said. “I am most proud of having a business that is highly respected in my industry. I hear this from many people and it’s something that must be earned. I have a team of highly successful, happy women who have full lives, are able to put family first, and whose individual success will always be my highest accomplishment.”
