A York County builder has completed a townhouse and rental complex in New Freedom and is now opening it to the public.
Burkentine Builders of West Manheim Township finished work this month on Franklin Square, a new housing complex at 1 E. Franklin Street directly off the Interstate 83 exit for New Freedom. The project was started in July and includes more than 60 three-story town homes and 72 one-story apartments planned for a future second phase.
The town homes at Franklin Square feature up to four bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, a one-car garage, a deck and appliances. Each unit comes with washer/dryer hookups, central air conditioning and gas heat, along with snow removal and grounds keeping services.
Representatives from Burkentine said the goal of the Franklin Square project was to create a small-town feel with quick access to a major commuter route and area businesses and attractions.
Burkentine Property Management of West Manheim Township is handing rentals at the complex. An opening is planned for Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
