Grants have been awarded to nonprofit organizations across central Pennsylvania as part of the ‘s 2024 Energizing grants.

According to a release, the grants will expand access to educational programs for students throughout the region.

“The PPL Foundation is proud to support nonprofit organizations that are helping to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in tomorrow’s workforce,” Lissette Santana, president of the PPL Foundation, said in a statement. “Our are designed to provide lasting, positive impacts by programs that create pathways for students to reach their full potential and thrive in a rapidly changing world.”

Energizing Education Grants ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 were awarded to the following central Pennsylvania organizations:

  • Arbor Place, Lancaster
  • North Museum Corporation, Lancaster
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capitol Region, Lebanon
  • Girls on the Run Mid State PA,
  • Junior Achievement of South-Central Pennsylvania, York
  • Lancaster Farmland Trust,
  • Manada Conservancy, Hummelstown
  • Summer Program for Youth, Carlisle

This round of funding brings the amount awarded through PPL Foundation’s various Pennsylvania grant programs and support in 2024 to more than $5.4 million. Funds awarded support educational programs, including those focused on encouraging students to pursue careers in , enhancing and summer learning opportunities, and providing resources to help students prepare for college and careers.

Applications for the foundation’s next round of grants –  – will be accepted from Jan. 1 through Feb. 15.
