Playa Bowls is opening in Camp Hill Saturday.
The store, which offers superfruit bowls such as acai and pitaya, oatmeal, chia, smoothies, juices and cold brew is opening at 11 a.m. at 3544 Gettysburg Road by franchisee Brooke Butler Wagner, who has operated a store in Carlisle since 2021.
“I’m thrilled to be expanding the Playa Bowls franchise in my home state of Pennsylvania,” said Butler Wagner. “After first trying Playa Bowls while vacationing with my family along the Jersey shore, where the concept originated, we instantly fell in love with the delicious bowls and smoothies! I’m confident the community of Camp Hill will be pleased with the superfruit bowl options and quickly embrace Playa Bowls as the go-to for a healthy alternative!”
Playa Bowls offers bowls made with superfoods, including pure acai, pitaya and brand-new mango, chia pudding, coconut, kale, banana, oatmeal, and more. Toppings include fresh cut fruits, seeds, nuts, granola, dried berries, and nut butters, she said.
The shop also offers a selection of juices, smoothies, cold brew, and other select drinks. Playa Bowls can be made vegan or gluten-free, and it can be adapted to integrate into Whole30, Keto, and Paleo diets.
Founded by surfers Abby Taylor and Rob Giuliani, Playa Bowls was born out of the desire to recreate deliciously healthy versions of the acai and pitaya bowls the pair encountered on various surf trips spanning from Costa Rica to Hawaii, according to a Playa Bowls press release.
Butler Wagner’s new store is the 17th to open in Pennsylvania. The brand has more than 175 shops systemwide, operating in 20 states, with plans to continue to expand the domestic footprint across the U.S. and globally.
The new shop in Camp Hill will open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
