Money TALK$ Movement founder recognized for leadership during Black Professionals Month

Money TALK$ Movement Founder Dr. Constance Craig-Mason was both humbled and energized recently when she was recognized for leadership, innovation, and global impact during Black Professionals Month. 

“Leadership and innovation, to me, are never separate from service and story,” the York-based businesswoman said. “In this field, innovation isn’t just about tech or new products. It’s about humanizing finance – making it accessible, culturally competent, and healing-centric. 

“To be recognized for global impact means the Money TALK$ Movement narrative has expanded. The work in York and Central Pennsylvania now reverberates in Nigeria, Australia, London, and across underserved populations in the U.S. But the anchor remains local. I’m driven by the belief that scale without roots loses its soul. This recognition affirms that you can hold community roots and global reach without sacrificing the heart of your mission.” 

Craig-Mason’s Money TALK$ Movement Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to closing the wealth gap through financial literacy, healing, and empowerment. While also serving as CEO of Concierge Financial Advisory, Craig-Mason is a three-time Million Dollar Round Table member, author, and global speaker. She has been featured in Forbes, Yahoo Finance, U.S. News & World Report, Black Enterprise, CBS42, Nasdaq, CNET, Investopedia and Financial Advisor Magazine. 

“I founded the Money TALK$ Movement because, early in my financial-planning career, I kept seeing clients who knew what to do, such as annual reviews, investments and insurance, but still felt stuck,” she said. “They felt unseen, ashamed or disconnected from the possibilities of true financial freedom. That echoed my own story: growing up in Baltimore with a teen-mom parent who taught me grit and resourcefulness, but no blueprint for generational wealth. 

“I realized that wealth isn’t just what you hold; it’s what you heal. I built the Movement to fill what the traditional financial industry misses: the emotional wound, the narrative behind the numbers and the legacy waiting to be unlocked. From York, we are empowering families, small business owners and communities to not just plan money but also reclaim their money story.” 

Being honored during Black Professionals Month (BPM) proved particularly gratifying for Craig-Mason. BPM is a global initiative held every October, led by the ICABA World Network, that celebrates Black excellence, elevates leadership, and advances wealth-building opportunities. 

Craig-Mason was honored at the BPM Global 100 Awards Brunch, taking place at the Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Oct. 25, during the annual Black Professionals Month celebration. The event brought together professionals from across industries, all recognized for their leadership and commitment to driving change. 

ICABA World Network commended Craig-Mason for her “natural ability to listen deeply, connect authentically and translate complex financial concepts into empowering, practical steps that help people reclaim their futures and build lasting legacies.” 

The BPM Global 100 recognition highlights Black professionals across industries who demonstrate excellence, innovation and influence. Honorees are selected through a non-fee-based process that evaluates professional merit, leadership impact and character, per the release. 

As part of the recognition, honorees were welcomed into ICABA’s global collaborative success ecosystem – a community designed to foster strategic relationships, leadership development and professional growth among Black professionals. 

“To be included among the Global 100 is both a profound honor and a call to action,” said Craig-Mason. “It validates that what I stand for – leadership, innovation and global impact – is visible in the Central Pennsylvania region and beyond. More importantly, it reminds me this recognition is not for me alone. It is for every mom figuring out how to save while raising kids, every business owner navigating capital access and every young professional in underserved neighborhoods wondering if they belong at the table. 

“During the awards ceremony at the Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale I celebrated, but I also asked: ‘How do we bring more of these tables to York, Harrisburg, and communities to foster more professional growth and entrepreneurial success?’ That’s what this honor inspires in me.” 

Craig-Mason said she bases her business in York for several reasons. 

“I chose to root my business in York because the community reflects the intersection of being hard-working and hungry for transformation,” she said. “It’s not a financial hub, and that’s intentional. It means I get to build the blueprint in a place where many believe the blueprint doesn’t exist. 

“From here, my firm, Concierge Financial Advisory, and the Money TALK$ Movement can rise and ripple outward to catalyze economic growth. York anchors the work; global impact accelerates it.” 

As she seeks to inspire others, Craig-Mason said she’s been inspired by her mother, along with several mentors. 

“My mother is my North Star,” she said. “As a teen mom with two daughters, she didn’t have a financial planner or generational road map to security, but she crafted possibility. She taught me that lack of privilege doesn’t preclude purpose. 

“I am also inspired by my mentors who whispered, ‘you belong here’ when I didn’t feel I did and taught me the power of being seen.”
