The City of Lancaster is expanding its bike share program. 

According to a release, the expansion includes 25 , or . The program is also extending its service area to include Manheim Township and . 

“Expanding Bike It Lancaster into neighboring communities and introducing e-bikes aligns with our mission to offer active transportation options and improve mobility for all,” said in a statement. “We’re excited to see this program grow and connect even more people to places in and around Lancaster.” 

Bike It Lancaster launched in 2017 and is designed for users to take short trips across the city using active transit. The allows riders to pick up a bike from any station and return it to any other station, per the release. 

With an annual membership, e-bike rides will be $1.50 for the first hour. Minus a membership, e-bike rentals are $3 for 30 minutes. 

The expanded bike share network includes three stations in Manheim Township and one in East Lampeter. Pedal bikes can be picked up or dropped off at stations located at , , the and .
