Federal-Mogul officials were not immediately available for comment on the site-management change or how many DHL employees may be retained to help run the distribution center.

But Lynn Anderson, a spokeswoman for DHL, confirmed that the logistics firm will no longer be managing the facility. However, Federal-Mogul will be interviewing and hiring back an unknown number of DHL employees to remain at the facility at 20 Leo Lane, she said.

Others will be offered the opportunity to transfer to other DHL-run facilities in Central Pennsylvania, she said. “We would not expect job losses.”

DHL manages multiple facilities for clients in the Carlisle and Mechanicsburg areas.

The employee transition is expected to occur in phases over a 19-week period ending in the beginning of 2018, according to a layoff notice filed with the state under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

The WARN notice said 223 employees would be impacted at the Federal-Mogul site. The Michigan-based manufacturer leased the entire facility, known as the First Logistics Center @ I-83, in 2014.
