The final settlement has occurred for the sale of a Central Pennsylvania golf course.
The Dauphin County General Authority (DCGA) and Harrisburg I, LLC announced that the final settlement took place on Monday for the sale of the Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, which will remain open until Oct. 12. Harrisburg I, LLC, purchased Dauphin Highlands for $45.6 million.
“We have been working to divest our nonperforming assets for the last 15 years,” DCGA Board Chairperson Barbara Zemlock said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the golf course never operated at a profit, and the sale will allow the authority to pay off the $13 million debt on the property.”
According to a release, a plan is being developed to address partial refunds due to the purchasers of the various membership programs and passes for the 2026 season that will be impacted by the closing prior to Dec. 31. Zemlock said many people enjoyed the golf course, and it was difficult for the board to sell it. But members believed it was part of their fiscal responsibility to approve the sale, per the release.
The sale is expected to provide substantial tax benefits to Dauphin County residents, particularly in Swatara Township and the Central Dauphin School District.
