Former Post-Gazette editor to lead WITF newsroom in central Pennsylvania

WITF Public Broadcasting on July 9 announced Jacqueline Palochko will serve as its news director moving forward.
Palochko, previously deputy managing editor at The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and reporter and editor for The Allentown Morning Call, also taught journalism at Moravian University and Lehigh University.
“Jackie will bring editorial vision and hands-on leadership to the WITF newsroom,” Fred Vigeant, WITF’s vice president of media and production, said in a release.
Palochko’s hiring is part of a broader personnel expansion across WITF’s 19-county coverage region. Other hires include Katie Knoll, weekend host and local reporter and Haley O’Brien, community impact reporter.
“I’m honored to join WITF at a time when trusted local journalism is more important than ever,” Palochko said in a statement. “I’m excited to work alongside this talented newsroom to produce reporting that helps people understand their communities, holds institutions accountable and reflects the voices of central Pennsylvania.”
