First ALDI store opening in Shrewsbury
National grocer ALDI is opening its first store in Shrewsbury.
The new location at 648 East Forrest Avenue opens Thursday at 9 a.m. The store will be open daily from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
“At our new Shrewsbury ALDI store, shoppers will find that every decision we make, from our product selection to store layout, is to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer,” Kelly Brennan, regional vice president for ALDI, said in a statement. “Our customers can save up to 36% on an average household’s shopping list. As shoppers look for better ways to stretch their dollar, ALDI is providing Shrewsbury with easier access to quality groceries at affordable prices.”
According to a release, the new Shrewsbury ALDI store will offer organic produce delivered daily, cheese, wine and food (gluten-free and plant-based) in addition to convenient access to curbside pickup and grocery delivery options.
The first 100 customers will receive a gift bag filled with ALDI Fan Favorites products and a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program. In addition, shoppers can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card through the opening weekend.
In time for the holiday season, ALDI is also offering Shrewsbury shoppers a 14-pound Butterball turkey and ingredients for Thanksgiving sides such as mac & cheese, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and more, per the release. The deal is available through Christmas Eve.
This latest store opening in Shrewsbury brings ALDI closer to its goal of opening 800 stores nationwide by the end of 2028. ALDI has been named one of America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes seven times in the past eight years.
